Sean Diddy had to seek therapy after Jennifer Lopez breakup. 'I have very drastic mood swings'

Sean 'Diddy' Combs, the hip-hop mogul whose career once epitomized glamour and excess, is back in the spotlight, but not for his music. Facing charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and other allegations, Diddy is awaiting trial scheduled for May 2025. As his legal troubles unfold, public interest in his past, particularly his relationship with Jennifer Lopez, has resurfaced.

Diddy and JLo: The 'Golden Couple'

Diddy and Jennifer Lopez dated from 1999 to 2001, a period when both were ascending to stardom. Their high-profile romance earned them the label of Hollywood’s “golden couple,” though it was fraught with controversies, including an infamous nightclub shooting incident. Despite parting ways over two decades ago, their brief but intense relationship continues to fascinate fans.

In a resurfaced interview with Playboy, Diddy shared how the breakup drove him to seek therapy. “I’ve been called bipolar—I’m not; I just have very drastic mood swings,” he said. “I went to therapy when B.I.G. died, but a lot of my therapy has been with love and relationships. I’ve had therapy about my relationship with Kim [Porter], about my relationship with Jennifer. Therapy helped me through a lot of those situations.”

Emotional Turmoil Post-Breakup

Lopez has also spoken about the emotional toll of their relationship. In a past interview with Vibe, she revealed, “I was in this relationship with Puff where I was totally crying, crazy, and going nuts. It really took my whole life in a tailspin.” She hinted at infidelity but admitted, “I never caught him [cheating], but I just knew.”

For Diddy, the breakup wasn’t easy either. In a 2002 interview with The New Yorker, he remarked, “If she is happy, then I am happy for her,” underscoring his lingering feelings at the time.

Current Legal Woes and Isolation

Diddy’s legal issues have seen many of his former allies and collaborators distance themselves from him. Following accusations from multiple women and the release of damning footage involving his ex, Cassie Ventura, the once-celebrated music producer finds himself increasingly isolated. Only his family remains by his side.

Meanwhile, Lopez, now divorced from actor Ben Affleck, has chosen not to address the renewed focus on her past with Diddy. According to a source quoted by RadarOnline, “Jennifer knows everyone is asking about it, but she is avoiding any questions.” The insider added, “Her links to him resurfacing are a PR disaster for her and damaging her own health.”
