Seema Nair joins Flipkart as CHRO

Ecommerce major Flipkart has appointed Seema Nair as chief human resources officer (CHRO).

In this role, she will oversee human resources for Flipkart, partnering closely with respective leaders and HR teams, Flipkart group chief executive Kalyan Krishnamurthy informed employees in an internal communication.

In a career spanning nearly three decades, Nair has worked across multiple industries including IT, manufacturing, FMCG and retail.

Before joining Flipkart, Nair worked with Reliance Industries, managing group-level assignments as head of group HR digitisation and head of Group HR office. She has previously worked with Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages as CHRO for India and SAARC; at Cisco Systems as CHRO for India and SAARC as well as Intel Corporation, Hughes Software Services, Microland Group and Crompton Greaves.

Nair has an MBA specialising in Human Resources from XLRI Jamshedpur.

Smriti Singh, CHRO at Flipkart quit the organisation in early 2020, and Krishna Raghavan, senior VP of engineering, fulfillment and services at the firm was elevated to the position of chief people officer. He left Flipkart in January 2024 after more than a decade at the ecommerce firm.
