Punjab fertiliser shortage has links to Haryana Assembly polls?

PUNJAB has got used to facing shortage of Diammonium Phosphate (DAP), an essential fertiliser, ahead of the Rabi season in recent years. However, this time another reason is being attributed to the crisis – the Haryana Assembly polls. Punjab requires around 5.5 lakh tonnes of DAP for the Rabi season, which extends from October to April. Some leaders alleged the Centre is diverting the fertiliser supply to neighbouring Haryana to ensure there is no shortage of it during the elections there. The BJP as well as the Centre have been at the receiving end of farmers’ wrath over legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP). The shortage in Punjab currently is estimated to be 3.5 lakh tonnes, and is threatening to disrupt sowing operations for potato and wheat. The supply to Punjab is likely to start after the elections process is over, a senior official said.

Seat sharing in ruling Mahayuti over: BJP to contest 150 – 155 seats!

In Maharashtra, the ruling Mahayuti alliance - the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) – are likely to announce seat sharing formula soon. According to the sources, BJP will contest the highest number of seats, followed by the Sena and NCP. “The BJP is likely to contest anywhere between 150 and 155 seats, the Sena 90-95 seats and the NCP 40-45 seats. Multiple rounds of meetings have taken place between the alliance leaders to finalise the seat-sharing arrangement.

This will be implemented through an online portal developed by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), accessible at . Graduates from IITs, IIMs, National Law Universities, IISER, NIDs, and IIITs and those having qualifications such as CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MBA, any master’s or higher degree are ineligible to apply. Similarly, If any member of the family is a permanent/regular government employee, can't apply.
