Google maps: Don't be fooled by Google Maps and Yamuna Expressway website, new toll tax rates have not been updated

If anyone in India travels from one state to another by car, he has to pay toll tax. You get toll tax at a fixed distance on the highway. You have to pay toll tax based on the distance of your travel. Yamuna Expressway built from Greater Noida to Agra is one of the busiest expressways in India. About 35,000 people travel on this expressway every day. The length of the expressway is 165 km.

There are three tolls on Yamuna Expressway. Which are available at 38 km, 95 km, and 150 km. Recently, the governing authority of Yamuna Expressway, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has increased the toll rates. Which has come into effect from October 1. But if you go by looking at the toll rates on the Yamuna Expressway website or Google Maps, then you will be fooled.

Toll rates are not updated on the Yamuna Expressway website.
The toll tax rates on Yamuna Expressway have changed. Traveling on this expressway between Greater Noida and Agra has now become 12 percent more expensive. Yamuna Development Authority (YEIDA) has changed the toll tax rates on the expressway. New toll tax rates have come into effect from October 1. Now after the increase in toll rates, if you travel from Greater Noida to Agra by car.

So now you will have to pay Rs 295 instead of Rs 270. On the other hand, buses will now have to pay Rs 935 instead of Rs 895. Similarly, oversized vehicles used to pay Rs 1760 as toll tax earlier, now they will have to pay Rs 1835 as toll. These rates have come into effect from October 1. However, the old prices are still visible on the official website of Yamuna Expressway.

Prices are not updated even on Google Maps.
If you look for a route to go somewhere on Google Maps, then you can also see the toll tax rate on that route on Google Maps. But if you check it on Google Maps now, you will see the old price only. If you check the toll rate on Google Maps or Yamuna Expressway website and then go for a journey, then you will be cheated. Therefore, when you go to Yamuna Expressway by your vehicle, check the updated toll rate.
