Metro stations, railway stations, airports, and shopping malls are the names of those places where escalators are very common. In today's modern times, escalators have become a common device. An escalator is called an automatic staircase in Hindi. Although it is a very easy-to-use escalator, but escalator is a sensitive machine that should be used very carefully. It is very common for young people living in metro cities to use escalators. But for people living in rural areas and elderly people, using an escalator becomes a bit challenging.

Often horrific news of accidents caused by escalators keep coming. In such a situation, this question comes to the mind of many people what should be done if the escalator has to be stopped in an emergency? The process of stopping the escalator is very easy and you can do this work yourself. Let us know about this in detail in this article.

Where is the emergency switch in the escalator:
Every escalator usually has three 'emergency stop switches'. It is also called an 'emergency stop switch'. There is one 'emergency stop switch' at the beginning and end of every escalator, and the third switch is in the middle of the escalator. If the escalator is long then there can be four 'emergency stop switches', the fourth switch is also in the middle of the escalator.

Whenever there is a possibility of something untoward happening on the escalator, in such a situation any of the three switches should be pressed immediately. By doing this the escalator stops immediately, and the untoward incident is averted. That is, the switch has to be pressed in any emergency. Many times it happens that you are far away from the switch, in such a situation you can request the person present near the switch to press the 'emergency stop switch'.

However, certain rules must be followed to use escalators safely:

Hold the handrails

Keep feet away from the edges

Keep feet between the yellow lines

Do not use escalators barefoot

Hold children carefully

Keep your face facing the direction of travel

Push carts or heavy objects are prohibited on escalators

Do not run on escalator steps

Move away from the escalator when the journey is over

Most importantly, press the "Stop Button" in case of an emergency
