A tatkal ticket is a reservation ticket that is booked a day before the departure of the train. The fare of the Tatkal ticket is slightly higher than the normal fare.

The window for Tatkal tickets opens a day before at 10 am for AC and 11 am for non-AC.

Tatkal tickets can be booked both online and offline.

Tatkal tickets are useful for those passengers who decide to travel at the last minute.

Premium Tatkal Ticket
Premium Tatkal ticket is also a type of reservation ticket. The fare in this is much higher than the Tatkal ticket. This is because the dynamic charge is also taken in it.
Its window opens at 10 am a day before the scheduled departure of the train. Booking for AC class tickets starts at 10 am, but for non-AC class tickets, booking starts at 11 am.
Premium Tatkal tickets can be booked only from the official website of IRCTC.
By booking a premium Tatkal ticket, there is a higher chance of getting a confirmed seat as compared to a Tatkal ticket.
