Today cricket has crores of fans in the world and just like children in European countries want to become footballers, similarly in Asian countries, England, Australia children want to become cricketers, 147 years ago many players have contributed in the cricket played in Test format, if we talk about two decades then T-20 cricket has gained a lot of popularity, leaving behind ODI and Test, it is continuously growing, many T-20 cricket leagues are going on in the world, but do you know where T-20 was played for the first time, between which teams was it played, let us tell you-

The first T20 International match was held on 17 February 2005 in Auckland, in which Australia and New Zealand participated. The current ODI World Cup champion Australia set a difficult target of 215 runs and won the match by 44 runs.

Ricky Ponting's brilliant innings of 98 runs off 55 balls stood out, while Michael Kasprowicz's impressive bowling performance (4 wickets for 29 runs) played a key role in Australia's victory.

Interestingly, the first T20 International match played between women was played on August 5, 2004 between England and New Zealand, in which New Zealand emerged victorious.

Today, more than 100 countries participate in T20 International cricket, while ODIs and Test cricket are played by 16 and 12 countries respectively. The International Cricket Council (ICC) sees T20 as the ideal format to promote cricket globally, paving the way for its continued growth.
