The division bench of Jabalpur High Court Chief Justice Suresh Kumar Kait and Justice Vinay Jain took the case of human trafficking very seriously. The division bench has directed the Superintendent of Police of Katni and TI Barhi to investigate the FIR registered case. The division bench disposed of the habeas corpus petition filed with the said order.

In the habeas corpus filed by Dhannu Kol, resident of village Ubra, Vijayraghavgarh of Katni district, it was said that his son Shiv Prasad alias Ledda was taken to Telangana by Rajkumar Kabra and Maujilal Sahu for labor. During this time his son is missing, and no clue is being found in relation to him. He had complained to the police officers regarding the disappearance of his son, but due to no action being taken, the said petition was filed. It was said in the petition that the non-applicants have kept his son hostage for labor.

During the hearing of the petition, the High Court had issued notice to the non-applicants and sought a reply. In the reply submitted by the police, it was said that a team has been sent and an FIR has been registered in Telangana. The petitioner argued that the two persons who took the son away have not been questioned till now. He has not been able to contact his son for two years. After hearing the petition, the division bench issued orders to the police to register an FIR.
