Good Morning Britain viewers 'can't watch' as presenter makes return after lengthy break

Good Morning Britain viewers claimed to ‘switch off’ as Richard Madeley returned to our TV screens following a lengthy break.

During Monday’s episode of the hit breakfast show, viewers watching at home were joined by regular host and co-star Richard.

The TV presenter , 68, has been missing from the show for a few weeks and since then the show has seen some changes to the line-up as a number of show regulars stepped in to host the programme.

In his absence, ITV audiences have been greeted by a variety of hosts such as Ed Balls and , meanwhile co-star presented alongside Rob Rinder.

Making his return to , Richard didn’t address his absence and dived straight into the show as he gave viewers a preview of what was in store for the day's programme.

While some fans celebrated his comeback, others were less enthusiastic. Viewers rushed straight to social media and wasted no time sharing their reaction to the stars' return.

One viewer fumed: “Not watching.” Another said: “Sorry I can't watch Madeley. I’m opting to go out and run in the dark/rain as the better option. Disappointed.”

A third added: “Richard Madeley co-presenting? No thanks @GMB.” However some were please to see the ‘dream team’ back together as one said: “I So lovely to see Richard back this week with Susanna first time in weeks. @richardm56 and @susannareid100 welcome back Richard.”

Another added: “So happy to see the best dream team back Richard and Susanna @susannareid100 and.@richardm56.” It comes as Richard recently opened up about his future on GMB as he insisted that he has no plans to give up his day job any time soon.

"I am very happy to say on GMB as long as they want me,” He said "At some point I’m going to be too bloody old - I’m 68! "At some stage either I will think or ITV will think maybe the times come. But hopefully that will be for a few years yet, because I don’t feel 68."

Richard also spoke about his time on the show, adamantly dismissing rumours of a feud with co-host Susanna Reid. Speaking to The Sun, he added: "I wouldn't get up at four in the f****** morning two weeks out of four, Monday to Thursday, if I didn't enjoy it. I don't need to do it. My career arch as it were, is behind me."
