Halle Bailey and rapper boyfriend DDG split just 11 months after welcoming baby

Rapper DDG has announced his shock split from Halle Bailey just months after they became parents for the first time.

The Little Mermaid actress, 24, and the rapper, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. were together for nearly three years. They share son Halo, after Halle kept her a secret for months. Back in July, the couple showed their little boy's face for the first time.

However, it has since been revealed the pair have called it quits. DDG, 26, issued a statement that read: "After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways. This decision was not easy, but we believe it's the best path forward for both of us.

"I cherish the time we've spent together and the love we've shared. Despite the change in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true." Halle is yet to address the split, and instead took to her own social media account to share photos with her younger brother to mark his birthday.

In January this year, Halle introduced the to their little boy as she shared a photo holding onto baby Halo's hand. The name was unveiled with the gold bracelet the tot wore on his wrist, with the word 'Halo' engraved on it. Halle penned: "Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son.. welcome to the world my halo the world is desperate to know you."

Fans started suspecting that the couple were expecting months before when Halle was seen stepping out in baggy outfits. At the MTV Video Music Awards in 2023 she sparked rumours even more when she donned a very loose-fitting orange dress. At the time, a source told a US news site that Halle's orange dress flow "was an indicator she was trying to hide".

Just three months after giving birth, as the new family headed on holiday. The 24-year-old previously detailed her gruelling workouts including weight training after pregnancy. She also hit back at criticism over 'hiding' her . The singer responded to a user on X who accused her of lying to fans by not telling them she and her boyfriend and rapper DDG were expecting.

She wrote: "I never lied or even said anything about it honey , making a joke about my nose was the farthest i went . i’ll never understand why you are mad i protected my own peace, wouldn’t you do the same?" She continued:" And i’m gonna share my pics now if i want to because my son is here safely, if u don’t wanna see it just keep scrolling baby lol God bless you." After Halle tweeted about how she felt, she made a separate post, writing: "Lol my hormones have been on 10 recently so i’m gonna go back to staying off twitter. love you all."
