Millie Bobby Brown stars in what Netflix has said is its most expensive movie they've ever made.

The Electric State, which also stars Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci and more, took seven years to make and is directed by the highly-rated Russo Brothers - who are known for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: .

There was a heated bidding war for The Electric State in 2017 and the Russo Brothers acquired the rights to it. Succession's Brian Cox, Seinfeld's Jason Alexander, Woody Harrelson and Billy Bob Thornton provide character voices for the movie, which took seven years to make and cost $320 million.

Besides the film being an adaptation of Simon Stålenhag’s 2018 graphic novel of the same name, there haven't been many details about the movie. Millie takes on the role of an orphaned teenager, called Michelle, who travels across the American West looking for her younger brother.

She is accompanied by a robot who claims to know her missing brother. A trailer was released by where Michelle says: "Right now, all of us have something in common. We all lost something after the rebellion. Robots lost their freedom," as Oasis' hit song Champagne Supernova plays in the background. The movie is scheduled to be released on March 14, 2025.

In the trailer, Millie's character is seen sitting at a table with Chris Pratt's character, who asks here: "You sure you wanna do this?" After the trailer was released, many took to the comment section to urge fans to read the original graphic novel before watching the movie.

"My heart broke more the longer this trailer went. The longer it went the further it drifted from the original book. By the time we got to the 'funny' quips by a robot having fridges thrown at it, I was out," one disappointed fan commented while another said: "I've never been so disappointed in my life , the original book by Simon stalenhag had a completely different mood and composition, the book felt more like a cosmic horror and had a more serious tone than this."

Another questioned why the same actors are being used for many recent films. They said: "There have to be more great actors in the than just the same 20 celebrities we see in every movie and tv show over and over again."
