Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who directed 12th Fail, has expressed gratitude for the film's immense positive reception.

Speaking to the media at the IIFA Awards in Abu Dhabi on Saturday night, Chopra revealed if he plans to send his film to the upcoming Academy Awards.

Chopra's views on awards and '12th Fail's Oscar submission
Award perspective

When asked about submitting 12th Fail for the Oscars, Chopra responded, "I am not a very award fellow, award kind of fellow."

"I think the most important thing, the most important award is when you make a movie and when you see that movie, you say, ah, I did it. Or you say, oh, it didn't quite work."

'With '12th Fail' I think I succeeded'
Personal success

Chopra added, "For me the success that comes from outside means very little."

"For me the most critical thing is after I've made the movie, am I feeling successful? Which means have I succeeded in doing what I wanted to do or have I failed? With 12th Fail, I think I succeeded."

The director also spilled some beans on his upcoming project Zero Se Restart, billed as a prequel to 12th Fail.

It'll release in December.
