"The inauguration of the metro for which PM Modi was scheduled to visit Pune, has already been done five times," she said.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued an orange alert for heavy rains on Thursday, leading to the cancelation of PM Modi's program.

Maharashtra Metro spokesperson Hemant Sonawane stated, "The program has been canceled due to the orange alert (for heavy rains) issued for Thursday by the IMD."

He added that if there were rains, people coming for the program may face hassles, so for their safety, the program was canceled.
