In the second phase of Jharkhand assembly elections, voting will be held in 38 constituencies on November 20. In this phase, 522 candidates from various political parties are in the fray. Out of these candidates, 127 candidates are crorepatis. Samajwadi Party's Akil Akhtar has assets worth more than Rs 400 crore and he is the richest candidate among the second phase candidates. This has been revealed by the affidavit filed by the candidates during nomination on Thursday on behalf of the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR). According to the affidavit, out of 522 candidates, 148 candidates have criminal cases registered against them.
According to the report, 127 i.e. 24 percent candidates in the second phase are crorepatis, while 148 i.e. 28 percent candidates have criminal cases registered against them.
According to the report, 23 percent of the candidates have disclosed in their affidavits that serious criminal cases, including rape, murder, and attempt to murder, are pending against them.
SP candidate's assets are more than 400 crores.According to the report, the Samajwadi Party candidate from the Pakur assembly seat Akil Akhtar is the richest in the second phase. According to the affidavit, his total movable assets are Rs 99.51 lakh, while he has declared immovable assets worth Rs 402 crore. His total assets are more than Rs 400 crore.
Secondly, the richest candidate in the state is the independent candidate from the Dhanwar assembly seat Niranjan Rai, whose total assets are Rs 137 crore and the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) candidate from the same seat Mohammad Danish's total assets are about Rs 32 crore, who is at third place in the state.
At the same time, Jharkhand People's Party (JPP) candidate Alien Hansdak from the Maheshpur (ST) constituency has no assets. Independent candidate Rajeshwar Mahato from the Silli assembly seat has a total asset of Rs 100 and another independent candidate Jitendra Oraon from the Khijir assembly seat has a total asset of Rs 2,500.
Criminal cases were registered against 148 candidates.According to an analysis by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates have the highest percentage of criminal cases registered against them. 14 out of 32 (44 percent) BJP candidates have criminal cases registered against them.
8 out of 24 candidates of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), 42 percent (5 out of 12) of Congress, 25 percent (5 out of 20) of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and 67 percent (4 out of 6) of AJSU Party candidates have criminal cases registered against them. According to the affidavit, out of the total candidates, 148 have criminal cases registered against them.
12 BJP candidates, or 38 percent, have cases of serious crimes registered against them. 5 BSP candidates (21 percent) have similar cases registered against them, while 4 candidates each from Congress (33 percent) and AJSU Party (67 percent) have cases of serious crimes registered against them.
