Amethi Chandan Verma Encounter: 4 murders committed in the name of love, did not spare even the innocent, encounter of accused Chandan Verma… shot in the leg

Chandan Verma, the accused in the murder case of a government teacher, his wife, and two children in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, has been injured in a police encounter. While being taken to recover the murder weapon, Chandan snatched the pistol of the police inspector. He fired at the inspector. The police retaliated and shot the accused in the leg, injuring him. The police have admitted him to the hospital.

Chandan Verma, the accused of killing a Dalit teacher and his family, was shot in the right leg in a police encounter. He encountered the police in the jungle of Piure Vindhya Diwan canal track in the Mohanganj police station area. Chandan had snatched the inspector's pistol and fired at police sub-inspector Madan Kumar Singh. The police fired in self-defense, which hit Chandan's right leg. Amethi police have admitted Chandan to Tiloi CHC for treatment. He has confessed to the crime of killing 4 members of a family in Ahorva Bhavani of Amethi.

Was arrested from Noida Jewar toll

Amethi police arrested the accused Chandan from Jewar toll in Noida on Friday. He was trying to flee to Delhi. He was caught in a joint operation by STF and local police. Five police teams were deployed to arrest him. He has confessed his crime. Initial interrogation has revealed that the accused had an affair with the teacher's wife. He had carried out the murder alone. Chandan Verma has been living in a rented house near Matiha in the city Kotwali area for the last 5 months.

Four murders were committed due to love affairs.

Chandan Verma shot dead Sunil Kumar, his wife Poonam, daughter Drishti, and Sunny, a government teacher living in a rented house at Ahorwa Bhavani intersection of Shivratanganj police station area of Amethi. According to the police, Chandan was having an affair with Sunil's wife Poonam. Sunil came to know about this. There was discord in the family. After which Poonam stopped talking to Chandan. This made him furious. Due to some untoward incident, Sunil had earlier pressurized Poonam and filed a complaint against Chandan with the police.

Whoever came in front was shot dead, 10 rounds of firing

Chandan Verma told the police that after Poonam rejected him, he became hell-bent on killing her. He started craving revenge and reached Poonam's house with a pistol and a bullet to kill Sunil and Poonam. Chandan was hell-bent on revenge.

He shot whoever came in his way. Along with Sunil and Poonam, the accused Chandan also shot dead their two innocent daughters. Meanwhile, the accused Chandan fired 10 rounds. He told the police that he also wanted to commit suicide. He also fired at himself but missed. He fled from the spot after the incident.
