ASEAN Summit: PM Modi presented precious gifts of Indian culture to the heads of states

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Laos on a two-day visit. PM Modi has specially thanked the organizers for attending the 21st ASEAN-India Summit. He said that this visit was very useful in line with India's commitment to maintaining strong relations with ASEAN countries. He said that we will continue to work together towards peace, prosperity, and sustainable development in the region. To make the visit memorable, PM Modi has presented gifts related to Indian culture to the heads of state of many countries here.

 

 

PM Modi presented a unique silver lamp to the PM of Japan. It is an excellent example of Indian craftsmanship made with Jhalaar work studded with precious stones. The silver lamp made of 92.5% silver is a testimony to the artistry of Kolhapur in Maharashtra. The Prime Minister also presented an old brass Buddha statue made with Meena's work. It belongs to the state of Tamil Nadu. This gift prepared by skilled artisans presents the essence of South Indian craftsmanship and Buddhist philosophy.

Peacock with silver carving work

PM Modi presented a silver carved peacock statue to the PM of Thailand. This artwork, famous in India and abroad for its unmatched carving, is the identity of the culture of West Bengal. The royal peacock reflects the beauty of Indian culture. The artist has carved the different feathers of the peacock very intricately. Its design is worth seeing.

unique silk gift

Prime Minister Modi presented a Patola scarf of Patan to the President of Laos. Patola means silk cloth. It is a part of the ancient tradition of North Gujarat. Its practice can be traced back to the 11th century. This art has a rich history that is centuries old. It is believed that it originated in Surat. The PM also presented a unique artwork based on the Radha-Krishna theme to the wife of the President of Laos.

Beautifully crafted table

Apart from this, Prime Minister Modi presented the Prime Minister of Lao PDR with a table made of handmade traditional craftsmanship along with decorative utensils, which are the identity of Ladakh's culture. This gift item reflects the cultural heritage of Ladakh. This artwork highlights the skills of the artisans of Ladakh. This shows how intensely the artists of Ladakh have preserved the rich tradition in their art.
