Mumbai News: Another big arrest has been made in the Baba Siddiqui murder case of Mumbai. The Crime Branch has picked up a man from Gujarat from Akola, and now the count of arrests in this case has reached 25. Yes, Salmanbhai Iqbalbhai Vohra, a resident of Petlad in Anand district of Gujarat, was arrested by the police from Balapur.
This whole case is very high-profile. On October 12, 66-year-old NCP leader Baba Siddiqui was shot dead in broad daylight in Nirmal Nagar area of Bandra East. The firing took place near the office of his MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui, and since then Mumbai Police is engaged in solving the mystery of this case.
Now the new name that has emerged in this case is Salmanbhai Vohra, his specialty is that he had provided financial help to some of the people involved in the murder. Police say that Salmanbhai opened a bank account in May, and then helped the mastermind of this case and some other people with money. He had also funded the arrested accused Gurmel Singh, Rupesh Mohol, and Nareshkumar.
But even before Salman bhai's arrest, the police had caught several big names. Gurmel Singh of Haryana and Dharmaraj Kashyap of UP were arrested by the police immediately after the murder, and just a few days ago, a shooter named Shivkumar Gautam was arrested from Bahraich in UP.
Police say that Shivkumar Gautam is the main shooter in this case, and he was absconding since October 12. According to information, Gautam was trying to flee to Nepal, but the police caught him from Bahraich.
So far, 25 people have been arrested in the entire investigation, and the Mumbai Crime Branch is busy uncovering every layer of this case. It is believed that more revelations may happen in the future, and only time will tell which big names will come out in this case.
