Car Tyre Tips: If you drive your car at a very high speed, especially on highways, then doing so can put you in trouble and you can get into a terrible accident. Actually, driving a car at high speed puts a lot of pressure on the car's tyres. In such a situation, the risk of tyre blast increases significantly. Keeping this in mind, today we are going to tell you about the speed at which you should not drive your car.
The probability of a tyre bursting depends largely on its quality, condition and road conditions, and speed. Generally, tyres are designed to run safely up to a certain speed, which is called the speed rating of the tyre. This speed rating is mentioned on the sidewall of each tyre. It tells the maximum speed up to which the tyre is safe.
The risk of a tire burst is higher when:
Speeds above 120-130 km/h: After this speed, the temperature of the tyre starts rising rapidly, which can weaken the tyre rubber and increase the chances of a blowout.
The tyre is over-inflated: Running at high pressure makes the tyre surface thinner, and it can burst at high speeds. The
tyre is old or worn out: Old and worn out tyres have much less strength than new tyres and can burst quickly at high speeds.
All tyres have a fixed speed rating such as:
S rating: Up to 180 km/h
T rating: Up to 190 km/h
H rating: Up to 210 km/h
V rating: Up to 240 km/h
Therefore, it is important that you limit the speed of your car according to the speed rating of the tyre and do regular checkup of the tyres. Driving at high speed can increase the risk of tyre burst, which can cause you to be a victim of an accident.
