Disadvantages of eating too many tomatoes

Any healthy thing can have both advantages and disadvantages, this is why health experts advise not to eat nutritious food beyond a limit. Tomato has acidic properties, and it also contains Solanine and Lycopene, which can cause problems. Let's take a look at the disadvantages caused by it.

1. Joint pain

Excessive consumption of tomatoes can cause joint pain and edema, because this vegetable contains an alkaloid called Solanine, which can cause pain and swelling in the joints. Therefore, patients suffering from diseases like arthritis should eat it in small quantities.

2. Acidity

Although tomato is considered to be an excellent vegetable for digestion, but if you consume it beyond a limit then you may have acidity or acid reflux problem. Actually the nature of this vegetable is acidic which can increase the problem of gastroesophageal reflux.

3. Kidney disease

People who are suffering from kidney related diseases should eat tomatoes only after consulting a doctor because it is considered a rich source of potassium, which can increase kidney problems. It is better for them to avoid tomato soup and tomato sauce.
