The Russia-Ukraine war is about to enter its third year. Since the invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022, the Russian army has been advancing inside Ukraine and taking control of Ukrainian settlements one after the other. Even though the Russian army has gained an edge on the ground, it is facing a tough challenge from Ukraine and soldiers are being killed on a large scale.

According to data released by Ukraine on Monday, November 10 was the deadliest day for Russia, in which it suffered 1770 casualties in just one day. Before this, the highest number of casualties, 1740, occurred on May 13. According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army, the total number of casualties in Russia so far has reached 710,660.

There was no statement from Russia.

There has been no comment from Russia about this. All these figures are broadly in line with the estimates of Western countries. Western officials have claimed that the month of October has been the heaviest month ever for the Russian army. Because Russia has lost a large number of soldiers during this month.

The data from the Ukrainian army's General Staff does not say whether the casualties include dead or wounded. However, it is believed to include the number of dead, wounded, missing, and captured.

Estimates of the death of North Korean soldiers

Britain's Chief of Security Staff Admiral Anthony Radakin told the BBC on November 10 that the number of Russian soldiers killed and wounded last month (October) was an average of 1,500 a day. This is higher than the previous figure from Britain's Defense Secretary John Healy, which said that 41,980 people were killed and wounded during October, or an average of 1,354 a day.

According to some experts, the increase in casualties in recent months is also due to the deployment of North Korean soldiers in Russia. It is believed that North Korean soldiers are facing more losses due to a lack of experience and less understanding of the region. Radakin said that Russia is sacrificing a large number of soldiers for small pieces of land.
