The happiness of this wedding, which took place in Uppal Hall of Firozpur district of Punjab, ended in sorrow. After the wedding rituals of a girl named Baljinder Kaur were completed, her brother Gurpreet fired in joy. Baljinder was preparing to leave with her groom Amritpal Singh, when this accident happened. By mistake, a bullet hit the bride's forehead. Baljinder Kaur was immediately taken to the hospital. From Firozpur's Bagi Hospital, she was later referred to Ludhiana's DMCH Hospital.
A case has been registered against Gurpreet under the Arms Act. It is being said that Gurpreet was drunk. A case has also been registered against the hall owner. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has expressed concern over incidents like celebratory firing. He said that the atmosphere of happiness turned into sorrow in a moment. The Chief Minister has appealed to the people to celebrate safely.
