The incident occurred one evening when DSP Santosh Patel, posted in Gwalior, was visiting Bhopal. As he passed by a vegetable shop, he suddenly stopped his car. The nervous vendor, named Salman, was called over by the DSP, who then asked, "What's your name?" When Salman answered, the DSP immediately got out of his car and hugged him. The DSP went on to reveal that 14 years ago, during a difficult phase of his life, it was Salman who used to lend him vegetables on credit when he had no money.

In the video uploaded on DSP Santosh Patel’s YouTube account, he shares that his connection with Salman goes back nearly 14 years. During that time, when he was struggling to make ends meet while studying, Salman had helped him by providing vegetables on credit. DSP Santosh Patel expressed that it was impossible to forget someone who stood by him during tough times, calling it "a sin to forget a friend in need." The DSP also mentioned how important it is for a person to remain grateful and not forget the kindness they receive.
