Bhupinder Hooda Confident of Congress Victory in Haryana as Exit Polls Favor Party

Chandigarh: Former Haryana Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda expressed confidence on Sunday that the people of Haryana had long made up their minds to bring the Congress party back to power. His statements came after exit polls projected a significant victory for Congress in the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections.

Speaking to the media, Hooda thanked the people of Haryana for their peaceful participation in the elections and reiterated his belief in the party's success. "I want to thank all the voters of Haryana for conducting a peaceful election. Exit polls came yesterday, but I have been saying this for a long time: people have made up their minds to bring the Congress party to power with a huge majority," he said. Hooda highlighted Congress's previous tenure from 2005 to 2014, contrasting it with what he described as the failures of the BJP-JJP government from 2014 to 2024.

The voting for Haryana's 2024 Assembly elections concluded on Saturday, with exit polls indicating a decisive win for the Congress. Some polls predict the party may secure more than 50 of the 90 seats in the state assembly. Haryana recorded a voter turnout of 65.65 percent as of 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, across all 90 assembly constituencies in the single-phase polls.

Despite the exit poll predictions, BJP's Ambala candidate Aseem Goel remained confident in his party's chances for a third consecutive term. He acknowledged the uncertain nature of politics, stating that the final results would be clear within the next 48 hours.
