Send Push

Cancer is a serious disease, which has many types and its causes are also different. According to a recent study, 80-90 percent of cases of rapidly spreading cancer are caused by bad habits and external causes. These also include wrong lifestyle habits. The good thing is that if we improve our habits, the risk of cancer can be reduced to a great extent.

You will be surprised to know that your eating habits can also be linked to cancer risk. Consuming certain foods can promote cancer development. Let's know about those 5 foods, which can increase the risk of cancer, especially when the way of cooking them is not right.

1. Meat

Overcooking meat can increase the risk of cancer. When meat is cooked at high temperatures, carcinogenic substances such as PAHs and Heterocyclic Amines (HCAs) are formed in it. These substances can cause cancerous tumors by altering the DNA of cells. Therefore, it is very important to cook meat at the right temperature.

2. Potatoes

Cooking potatoes for too long can cause cancer. When potatoes are fried or roasted too much, a chemical called acrylamide is produced, which is carcinogenic. It is safer to cook potatoes at medium heat and boil them.

3. Leafy Vegetables

Leafy vegetables like spinach and fenugreek are very beneficial for health, but their nutritional value decreases if they are cooked too much. The nitrates present in them can turn into nitrites when cooked for a long time, which can increase the risk of cancer. Therefore, it is better to cook leafy vegetables lightly.

4. Grains

Overcooking rice and other grains can also produce acrylamide, which is linked to cancer. To cook it properly, boil it in the right amount of water and keep the cooking time in mind.

5. Honey

Heating honey at high temperatures can convert it into hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF). HMF is a carcinogenic substance that can form deadly lumps in the body. Therefore, always use honey at low temperatures, such as do not heat it before adding it to tea. The way you cook these foods can affect your health. To reduce the risk of cancer, it is better to cook and eat these things thoughtfully. Always keep in mind that eating healthy food will not only keep your body healthy, but it can also reduce the risk of cancer.
