PM Modi Confident of BJP Victory in Haryana, Criticizes Congress for Divisive Politics

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday, expressed strong confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will secure a victory in the upcoming Haryana assembly elections. He emphasized that the patriotic people of Haryana would reject the "divisive and negative politics" of the Congress.

In a post on X, PM Modi shared his observations after touring the state. "The campaign for the Haryana assembly elections will end soon. Over the past few days, I've traveled across the state and witnessed immense enthusiasm among the people. This gives me full confidence that Haryana will once again bless the BJP. The patriotic people of Haryana will never accept the divisive and negative politics of the Congress," he wrote. PM Modi began his Haryana campaign with a rally in Kurukshetra on September 14, followed by rallies in Sonipat on September 25 and Hisar on September 28. His final rally took place in Palwal on October 1.

During his Palwal rally, the Prime Minister accused Congress of being opposed to the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and of failing to fully implement the Constitution in Jammu and Kashmir. He also condemned Congress for supporting the restoration of Article 370, alleging that they never mention reclaiming Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

"We will vote for the safety of our daughters, for employment, for good infrastructure, and roads. Congress, on the other hand, only pushes an 'urban naxal' agenda. They claim they will restore Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, but they don’t talk about reclaiming PoK," PM Modi said, adding that Pakistan’s government has backed Congress.

He further accused Congress of being the "biggest anti-Dalit party" in India, alleging that they plan to end reservations, with Haryana as their test ground. "As long as Modi and the BJP are here, no one can end reservations," he asserted.

Haryana goes to the polls on October 5 to elect its 90-member state legislative assembly, with results to be declared on October 8. In the 2019 elections, BJP emerged as the single largest party with 40 seats, while Congress won 30.
