PM Modi Embarks on 5-Day Visit to Nigeria, Brazil, and Guyana: What's on the Agenda?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has begun a five-day tour of Nigeria, Brazil, and Guyana, which will run from November 16 to 21. During this trip, he will also participate in the G20 Summit in Brazil, focusing on enhancing India's relationships with the three nations.

The official statement noted that PM Modi will visit Nigeria first, followed by stops in Brazil and Guyana.

Visit to Nigeria

On November 16-17, PM Modi will be in Nigeria, visiting at the invitation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The visit aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries, highlighting their shared values of democracy and pluralism. During his stay, he will also meet with the Indian community in Nigeria, who have expressed their excitement with warm welcome messages.

Stop in Brazil for the G20 Summit

From November 18-19, PM Modi will attend the 19th G20 Summit in Brazil as part of the Troika. He plans to engage in meaningful discussions to promote the agenda of the Global South, building on India's successful presidency last year. Additionally, the visit will include opportunities to explore new areas of cooperation with other global leaders.

Historic Visit to GuyanaThe final leg of the tour, on November 20-21, will take PM Modi to Guyana at the invitation of President Mohamed Irfaan Ali. This marks the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Guyana in over five decades. He will also participate in the 2nd India-CARICOM Summit, meeting with leaders from Caribbean nations to discuss regional partnerships.

PM Modi emphasized the significance of this visit, noting the deep cultural and historical connections between India and Guyana. He also plans to honor the Indian diaspora in the region, many of whom have roots dating back 185 years.
