Sanjay Raut Denounces IAF C-295 Landing at Mumbai Airport as 'Election Stuntbaazi'

Mumbai: On the inaugural landing of the IAF C-295 at Navi Mumbai's International Airport, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut criticized the event as "stuntbaazi" ahead of the assembly elections. During a press conference, Raut remarked, "This is 'stuntbaazi' for the elections in the state. The government's people have brought all the land in the adjacent area there. So to raise the price of the land, they are doing this drama. They are just working as contractors. In one minute, they make 15 decisions."

In contrast, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde hailed the Navi Mumbai Airport as a significant development for the people. He stated, "Navi Mumbai Airport will prove to be a boon for the people. Today, the C-295 successfully landed at Navi Mumbai Airport. The Airport will be named Lokneta DB Patil Navi Mumbai International Airport."

CM Shinde emphasized that this would be the largest airport, inaugurated by the Prime Minister, and noted that the first runway's test landing had taken place successfully. He set a target for completing the airport by March 2025, with commercial flight operations expected to commence then.

Shinde asserted that his government is efficiently executing welfare initiatives, saying, "We are ready for the flight as well as for the fight. We do what we say; we don't say what won't happen; let's see what happens in the future. Our work is done quickly. We started the Ladli Behan Yojana, and now money goes to the accounts of sisters quickly."

Highlighting the rapid progress made by the Mahayuti government in Maharashtra, he claimed that all schemes initiated by his government are already in motion. "Our work is swift, not slow and sluggish. Those who talk slowly later say there's no money. We started the Laadli Behna Yojana, and money is being transferred to the sisters' accounts promptly. Our plans are always executed swiftly. We have worked to bring good days into people's lives. The opposition has tried to halt many schemes, but I want to say that no scheme will be stopped," CM Shinde added.
