Send Push

Tollywood was left in shock on Saturday morning as news broke that Gayathri, the daughter of veteran actor Rajendra Prasad, passed away following a heart attack. Gayathri, aged 38, experienced chest pains late Friday night and was immediately rushed to AIG Hospital in Hyderabad. Despite efforts from the medical team, she suffered a massive heart attack and was pronounced dead at 12:40 am on Saturday.

The tragic news has sent waves of grief throughout the film community, with several prominent celebrities offering their condolences to Rajendra Prasad. The veteran actor, who was shooting for a film at the time, hurried to the hospital upon hearing about his daughter’s condition. Unfortunately, despite the medical team’s best efforts, Gayathri could not be saved.

Gayathri leaves behind her daughter, Sai Tejaswini, a child actor in the film industry. The relationship between Gayathri and her father had been strained after she married against his wishes. However, they reconciled in 2018 during a promotional event for the film Bewars, where Rajendra Prasad emotionally remarked that he saw his late mother in Gayathri, signifying a healing of their bond.

Her last rites are scheduled to take place later today in Hyderabad, as family, friends, and the film fraternity gather to bid farewell.

Tollywood Mourns the Loss

The Tollywood community has come forward to offer their condolences. Actor and Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, expressed his shock at the news. In a statement, he said, “My deepest sympathies to Shri Rajendra Prasad. The sudden loss of his daughter, Srimati Gayathri, is heartbreaking. I pray for her soul to rest in peace and wish Rajendra Prasad the strength to endure this loss.”

Jr NTR also shared his grief on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “It’s painful to hear that Rajendra Prasad, with whom I share a close bond, has lost his daughter Gayathri. I pray for her soul to rest in peace and send my condolences to him and his family.”

Gayathri’s untimely demise has left a deep void, and the entire Tollywood fraternity stands in solidarity with Rajendra Prasad during this tragic time.
