Send Push

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is a famous Bollywood actress, has said no to many films in her career. One of these films is 'Happy New Year', which had big names like Shahrukh Khan and Abhishek Bachchan. This film was directed by Farah Khan, and the film was released in 2014. This multi-starrer comedy film was very much liked by the audience. But do you know that Aishwarya Rai also got a chance to work in this film? She rejected this film. Let's know why.

Why did Aishwarya refuse the film?

Aishwarya Rai had told the reason for rejecting this film in an old interview. In an interview to NDTV, she said, “Yes, I was offered this film and it would have been fun to work in this comedy film. But I decided to leave it. The reason for this was that my pairing with Abhishek Bachchan did not work out in the film. We did not feel right working as a couple. If both Abhishek and I were playing the role of a couple in the film, then I would have definitely done it. But being in the film and not being opposite Abhishek would have been really strange. So I thought it better to reject it.”

Casting the film

After Aishwarya Rai refused, this film came to Deepika Padukone. Deepika worked in this film opposite Shahrukh Khan, while there was no other actress opposite Abhishek Bachchan.

Story and success of the film

The story of 'Happy New Year' revolves around a robbery that takes place in a Dubai hotel. The film featured many big stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Vivaan Shah, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Jackie Shroff. The film was well received by the audience and grossed 397 crores at the worldwide box office. Aishwarya Rai's decision shows that she always wants to make the right choice for herself and her co-stars in her career. Although 'Happy New Year' was a great success, Aishwarya's decision reflects her priorities and values. Thus, Aishwarya Rai has proved that to be successful in Bollywood, it is not only important to sign films but choosing the right project is equally important.
