While many Bollywood celebrities like Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, and Farhan Akhtar actively participated in elections, there are some well-known figures in the industry who are not eligible to vote in India. This is due to their non-Indian citizenship. Let’s take a look at the Bollywood stars who cannot cast their votes in Indian elections:

Alia Bhatt Alia Bhatt, one of Bollywood’s biggest stars, holds British citizenship. Though she has Indian roots, Alia’s mother, Soni Razdan, was born in Birmingham, England. As per Indian law, Alia is not allowed to vote in the country.

Katrina Kaif Katrina Kaif, another top Bollywood actress, was born in British Hong Kong and holds British citizenship. Her father, Mohammed Kaif, hails from Kashmir, and her mother, Susanna, is an English lawyer, making her ineligible to vote in Indian elections.

Nora Fatehi Nora Fatehi, who became a sensation in Bollywood, holds Canadian citizenship. Born and raised in Canada to Moroccan parents, Nora is not an Indian citizen and thus cannot vote in India.

Imran Khan Imran Khan, known for his roles in Bollywood films, was born in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. As an American citizen by birth, Imran does not have voting rights in India.

Jacqueline Fernandez Born in Bahrain to a Sri Lankan father and a Malaysian mother, Jacqueline Fernandez holds Sri Lankan citizenship, which disqualifies her from participating in Indian elections.

Amy Jackson Amy Jackson, known for her roles in films like Singh Is Bliing, was born in the Isle of Man to British parents. Holding a British passport, Amy has no Indian connection through her family, and she is not eligible to vote.

Kalki Koechlin Kalki Koechlin, a popular actress in the Indian film industry, is a French citizen by birth, as her parents are French nationals. She cannot vote in India due to her foreign citizenship.

Ileana D'Cruz Ileana D'Cruz, the Barfi! actress, holds Portuguese citizenship, as she has Portuguese roots through her family, making her ineligible to vote in Indian elections.

Evelyn Sharma German-born Evelyn Sharma, who appeared in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, holds German citizenship. She was born to a German mother and an Indian father, which means she cannot vote in India.

Manisha Koirala Manisha Koirala, the renowned actress from Dil Se, is a Nepali citizen. As she holds Nepalese citizenship, she cannot vote in India.

Helen The legendary actress Helen, who made a mark in Bollywood with her iconic dance performances, is a Burmese citizen by birth, which also disqualifies her from voting in India.

Akhil Akkineni Akhil Akkineni, the young actor from the Akkineni family, holds American citizenship. Born in San Jose, California, Akhil is not eligible to participate in the voting process in India.

These celebrities may not be able to vote in India, but they continue to enjoy immense popularity in the country. Their non-Indian citizenship does not diminish their contribution to Indian cinema, but it does mean they miss out on participating in the country’s democratic process.
