Arsenal have jokingly been told to sign UFC star Conor McGregor after he was spotted at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Gunners cruised to an impressive 2-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League to enhance their credentials as one of the favourites to win the competition earlier this week.

Kai Havertz opened the scoring with a brave header in the 20th minute before Arsenal doubled their lead just 15 minutes later when Bukayo Saka's cross evaded several of his teammates as well as PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Mikel Arteta was very pleased with how his side performed in such a high-stakes match, and McGregor certainly appeared to soak up the atmosphere in north London after the full-time whistle had sounded.

Footage shared on social media showed that the Irishman made his way onto the pitch once the majority of fans had left the stadium to enjoy a kickaround with several Arsenal players after they had cooled off and changed out of their strips.

McGregor was seen passing the ball back and forth with Declan Rice as the England international chatted with friends and family, before the 36-year-old decided to take his ad-hoc on-pitch trial one step further by looking to impress Bukayo Saka.

With the goals removed, Saka crossed the ball to McGregor as he charged into the penalty area. The boxer then took several touches before blasting his shot into the stands and celebrating as Saka laughed and clapped his footwork.

McGregor initially broke into the public eye through UFC and his impressive performances in the sphere, as well as his showmanship. He then branched into the world of boxing in what proved a lucrative move, and he has developed his wealth significantly since.

He owns a portfolio of pubs and has launched several alcohol brands as part of his expansion, and McGregor recently raised eyebrows by turning his attention to the music industry. He has launched his own music label, Greenback Records, that he hopes will 'overhaul' the sector.

Arteta will be hoping that McGregor's desire to succeed and win at all costs will have rubbed off on his Arsenal players on Tuesday evening as the Spaniard aims to guide his side to Champions League glory this season.
