Bargain Hunt's Tim Weeks makes candid admission about 'bossy' wife and children

Bargain Hunt is back on BBC One with antiques expert Tim Weeks sharing his knowledge with amateur buyers. He got involved in the show after he was spotted co-presenting the BBC's Street Auction.

Following a successful screen test, he was hired and has not looked back since. He described his job as "a dream come true", adding: "Sometimes, I look at the contestants standing next to me in the blue or red fleeces, and I just want to run around kissing everyone and shouting, I'm on Bargain Hunt!

"As for the day job, I absolutely love everything about being an auctioneer - from valuation and researching to cataloguing and auctioneering, I genuinely love it. I'm fortunate enough to work around great people where we work very hard, but also have a lot of fun."

When asked how he spends his free time he said: "Having fun and lots of madness with my wife Alexa and two children Albie and Bella. They all boss me around!"

It appears his admission about his family is all in jest as he adores spending time with his wife and children. He even gave up collecting antiques in order to put his children's needs first.

When asked whether he collects anything, he explained: "I try not to anymore!

"I used to collect loads... football programmes, toys, vinyl, ceramics, but I tend to spend my money on the kids instead of me these days."

Despite this, he continues to make time for himself to enjoy the things he loves, which include: "Coffee, chocolate and singing in my car."

He also loves a hunt around an outdoor antiques fair, added: "I always prefer an outside fair, as I like being able to rummage through the larger stalls where it feels like even the stall holder isn't completely sure what they have.

"Every time I turn up at a fair I expect to find 'that' item which will make my team rich... but I'm still waiting!"

He suffered some memorable losses during his career, revealing he spent £220 on a collection of celebrity autographs which were only worth £10.

"It still hurts," he joked while discussing the major loss.

Bargain Hunt airs on BBC One on weekdays at 12.15pm
