BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Shirley Ballas 'let slip' who would be sent home before vote

Strictly Come Dancing fans have accused of "sharing who she would vote for" before the dance off in tonight's results show. The BBC competition revealed its this evening, but fans thought that Shirley had already "let slip" who was going home ahead of the reveal.

Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones found themselves having to take to the dancefloor once more to fight for their place in the compeition as they were in the bottom two with and Karen Hauer.

Finding out she was in the dance off, singer Toyah said: "I don't know what to say, but I will be surfing in Newquay by Tuesday." Host Tess Daly comforted her as she said: "You might not be, it's too early to call that yet."

The presenter went to the judges as she asked Shirley, who "spotted a couple of hiccups" in the routine on Saturday night, what Toyah can do to "elevate" the routine in the dreaded dance off.

The BBC show judge seemed to already be saying her goodbyes, as she replied: "Well Toyah, having you in this competition has been fatastic and you bring great entertainment."

She added: "When you do this dance off, I want you to go with that entertainment part one-hundred percent. But remember, no mistakes. But that personality of yours is amazing."

Earlier in the show, when sitting down with the judging panel, asked Shirley if she would be sad to see Paul leave. The judge replied: "I'm very sad to see Paul in there because I think he's a very natural born entertainer."

She went on to say that it was "one of the best Movie Weeks" they'd ever seen as she hinted at who she would cast her vote for, saying: "I hope that he stays in because I think that he's got a lot of promise."

Fans at home thought that Shirley had pre-empted the outcome, with one posting to X/Twitter: "Neil knew that was happening his face every time they went too him and Shirley made it sound like she's going before the dance #Strictly."

Another wrote: "Shirley pre-emptively saying goodbye to Toyah #scd #strictly." While a third added: "#Strictly Shirley already saying shes going to save Paul even before the dance off."

After their fate in the competition was revealed, both couples performed their routines again with Toyah and Neil performing their Samba to Poor Unfortunate Souls from Little Mermaid while Paul and Karen performed their Cha Cha to The Magnificent Seven from The Magnificent Seven.

It was then time for the judges to deliver their verdicts with Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke all choosing to save Paul and Karen. Head judge Shirley Ballas also agreed and said she would have decided to save them too.
