A self-proclaimed "home expert", Caroline Solomon has shared a simple trick to make your bone-dry in an hour or two.

Taking to her TikTok channel Neat Caroline, she revealed the "burrito" method to - without the use of a tumble dryer.

In her online tutorial, Caroline lays out a dry towel flat, and places a wet shirt at one end. She then tightly rolls the towel and shirt together from the bottom up, similar to making a "burrito".

To extract excess moisture, she firmly presses down on the rolled-up towel, using her knees for extra support.

After unrolling, the garment is placed on a drying rack, and according to Caroline, it will "will dry in one to two hours instead of overnight".

For those needing even faster results, Caroline recommended using a hairdryer after the burrito wrap to achieve a dry top, for example, in "one minute".

Fellow laundry enthusiast Deyan Dimitrov, the founder of Laundryheap, revealed his "quick-dry" tips for drying clothes indoors.

Without the use of a tumble dryer or a hair dryer, Deyan recommended positioning the clothes horse away from the walls facing the cold outside.

The best position in the house to dry clothes is somewhere where the most heat will be; this could be in a sunny room during the day or in a room where the heating is on.

Clothes should be drying in well-ventilated areas, however, to prevent mould from developing in the home - this could mean being placed by a draught door, for example.

Additionally, for clothes to dry "quickly and effectively", do leave plenty of space between each garment on the clothes horse.

This helps an adequate amount of air flow around the clothes, which helps to speed up the drying process.

If you do have a tumble dryer, this can significantly speed up the drying process, but not all clothes are suited to the machine - and they can be expensive to run.
