Black Friday has become one of the main discount shopping events of the year in the UK and though the big day itself isn't until 29 November, many retailers are indulging in early sales. One of the best places to shop for the latest tech gadgets is , and there are already on offer from the familiar high street brand.

Just because an item is discounted it doesn't mean it's a good deal, which is why Express.co.uk has combed through to see which are worth your consideration. Here are the six deals we think are worth a look if you've been thinking about picking up some new tech.

NOW £179 - SAVE £50

These headphones have been superceded by the WH-1000XM5, but we actually prefer this XM4 generation. They are more comfortable, lighterweight and have hinges to fold up smaller, unlike the newer pricier version. For less than £200 you get Sony quality audio with support for hi-res Bluetooth audio, superb balanced tuning and excellent bass response.

You can get up to 30 hours of battery life, charge via USB-C, and enjoy the active noise cancellation tech that can block out anything from noisy neighbours to keyboard tapping to aeroplane engines. We've used these headphones on transatlantic flights and been able to hear our music and even nod off thanks to the noise cancelling on board.

You can get cheaper headphones, but for the price these Sony cans come recommended.

NOW £239 - SAVE £100

If you're after an affordable new phone then the Galaxy A35 should fit the bill. Samsung's smartphones are well made and reliable, and at £100 off this one offers great value for money with triple cameras, 6.6-inch OLED screen, a large 5,000mAh battery and Android 14 software out the box.

You also get 128GB storage, 5G, face recognition and a fingerprint scanner plus IP67 dust and water resistance to keep you covered if the phone takes an accidental dip.

With four years of software updates and five years of security patches, you'll also have an up to date phone until Match 2029.

NOW £549 - SAVE £50

This is a solid deal for an iPhone Apple still sells. £50 off an iPhone is also quite a rare saving, so if you're happy spending less on a new iPhone that first came out in 2022, you're good to go. We still recommend the iPhone 14 if you want a smartphone with good battery life, solid camera and software support for at least four more years from now.

Currys has the phone in a whole range of colours (we're fond of the red or yellow options), and with 128GB storage you shouldn't fill up too fast. Bear in mind this iPhone has a Lightning port rather than USB-C, but you might also be glad for that if your current iPhone also uses the older charging connection.

You won't likely find a bigger discount on the iPhone 14 this month.

NOW £44.99 - SAVE £110

You brush your teeth at least twice a day (we hope), but you might not have put much thought into your toothbrush recently. This is a huge saving on a brush from one of the best brands in the business, with a whopping £104 off the RRP.

The Oral B iO 3 has a smart pressure sensor that flashes red when you're brushing too hard, white when too soft and green when you're spot on. The round brush is ideal to get to hard-to-reach spots and there are three brushing modes plus a timer to make sure you spend enough time at the sink.

Replacement brush heads are easy to find for this popular brush, and with a charging dock included this should keep your teeth clean for years to come.

NOW £849 - SAVE £450

Though this laptop will still set you back £849 in the sale, if you want one of the best laptops going then it's a sound investment. With an RRP of £1,299, it represents a huge £450 saving.

, awarding it four-and-a-half stars out of five. It has superb performance thanks to the Intel Core Ultra 7 chip, a huge 1TB storage, and a perfectly sized 14-inch 3K OLED screen. Battery will last you just about right hours away from a plug, and the design is thin enough to carry around without needing a trip to the osteopath.

We also like that it has tons of ports despite its thin size, making it a great alternative if you prefer Windows machines.

NOW £229 - SAVE £200

TVs can often get far too expensive but if you need an affordable good quality screen for your living room then this 43-inch LED telly from Hisense is worth considering. It's down to £229 from £429 and boasts 4K resolution so you can enjoy all your shows and films in high resolution.

Best of all, this TV has built in. That's the new service from the people who make Freeview, which offers free-to-air TV services over an internet connection. That means you can get Freely, which is basically Freeview, without the need for a set top box or satellite dish. As Freely will tell you, "all you need is Wi-Fi". There's no contract involved.

You also get two HDMI ports and HDR tech, so you can plug in a DVD player or home games console and expect things to look pin-sharp.

There will be plenty more deals between now and Black Friday itself, and there are many more already live today, so head over to the Currys website and see if you can bag yourself a bargain. Of course, do think twice before taking the plunge on a big ticket tech item - it's only truly a great deal if you were thinking of buying it anyway, or if there really is a huge chunk of cash to be saved.
