A motoring expert has recommended a number of tips that can help drivers avoid accidents and frustration caused by one of the experienced on the roads during November.
As the nights continue to draw in and more motorists are travelling in the dark, many have experienced other road users behind with their on.
Whilst full-beam headlights can be particularly useful when travelling on unlit roads at night, it can seriously affect how much motorists ahead can see and lead to paying up to .
Fortunately, Simon Waye, Technical Engineer at , highlighted that there are a number of ways in which can stay safe.
He explained: "These tips can help everyday drivers adapt to the demands of winter roads, keeping themselves and others safe during one of the most dangerous times of year for road users."
First, ATS Euromaster recommended that drivers who are being dazzled by another vehicle behind them try to adjust their interior mirror.
The majority of new cars feature a rear-view mirror with a day and night function, which is either controlled automatically or by pulling down a small tab at the bottom of the frame.
In most cases, pulling the tab will reduce the amount that is reflected, meaning that drivers will get significantly less glare from the headlights behind them.
Similarly, the company recommended that drivers make sure to keep their windscreen clean, which can also help them to feel more comfortable whilst being dazzled by a vehicle.
With the roads typically dirtier during the autumn and winter months, drivers can quickly end up with a windscreen covered in dust, mud and grit, which can reflect the light.
As a result, ATS Euromaster highlighted that regularly spending some time cleaning the inside and outside of the vehicle's windows can be vital to helping drivers stay safe.
