Fallon Sherrock has put rivalries aside to admit that Beau Greaves is the best female player she has ever witnessed. Rocketing to fame after her groundbreaking victory over a male opponent at the in 2019, Sherrock swiftly became a dominant figure in the sport.

But, the meteoric rise of then-teenager Greaves towards the end of 2019 all but ended Sherrock's reign. Overcoming the challenges associated with dartitis amidst the pandemic, Greaves would seize the title of BDO women's number one at just 16, and bag two WDF World Championship titles not long after.

The 20-year-old has since dazzled audiences at the iconic Alexandra Palace, made waves at the Grand Slam of Darts, and snatched two Women's Matchplay titles, outperforming Sherrock and proving herself as the leading name in the women's game. Despite their on-stage rivalry, however, Sherrock expresses nothing but respect for Greaves offstage.

Speaking to Wayne Mardle on , when Sherrock was asked if she had ever seen a female player as talented as Greaves, she responded: "Not as consistent, no.

"There are youth players and stuff that you see coming through the system who had talent," she continued. "But, they never had the consistency and never stuck to it.

"Whereas Beau's always been that good, and then now she's had the consistency doing it on a regular basis, you can see why she's number one."

Both Greaves and Sherrock are the stars of the PDC Women's Series, a mini-tour launched in 2020, offering spots at the World Championships. Greaves, who has notably declined her place at the world's for two consecutive years with hopes to retain her women's world title, is the top contender, and Sherrock got into the minds of those who face her, reports .

"I think if you see some of the games that we've lost on the Women's Series," Sherrock added. "The people that we've played have really stepped up to the mark.

"I mean, some of the games that some of the women that are playing against Beau at the moment because obviously, she's the main one to beat in everyone's eyes - the women are just stepping up, hitting 90 averages and stuff."

Sherrock, who was flung into the limelight in 2019, noticed a now-quashed shift in how competitors approached matches against her, too: "You can definitely see that now whereas obviously at the start, everyone was like: 'Oh no, I can't lose to her, I can't lose to her.' But now, everyone's like: 'If I do, it's not a big deal.' But then they always play really well against me anyways!"
