Gabriel Jesus has spoken out about his struggle for game time at this season, expressing his frustration after coming on as a second-half substitute during the Gunners' on Wednesday.
Despite Arsenal's solid start to the campaign, the Brazilian forward has only been in the starting lineup for five of their 16 matches in all competitions.
Jesus, who recently missed out on Brazil's qualifiers squad due to limited playing time, has now committed to working hard to reverse his situation. He told TNT Sports Brasil: "Well, I believe that not only me, but any player, all players, want to have more minutes.
"I'm obviously never going to cause anything in the club, I'm going to try to demonstrate on a daily basis, in training, and when I get into the games, have my chance, and do my thing and trust that things will happen. "I've always made it very clear that I want to improve, that I want to try to do my best and help Arsenal.
"Obviously, my moment is not the best, it's not the moment I wanted, that I would like, but as I said, I'm working on my own, trying to do my best, and get more minutes to play, but that's a consequence of my training, it's a consequence of the way I get in and leave the decision to the coach.
"I believe in my potential, and I also know that the fight for my place in Arsenal is big, but I also believe that I can help a lot."
Palmeiras have been eager to lure back Brazilian ace Jesus, yet Arsenal has swiftly dismissed any prospect of losing the forward.
The South American club's intentions hit a wall. The Gunners are keen on keeping the 27-year-old in their squad despite uncertainties over his future in north London. Palmeiras chief Leila Pereira confessed: "Gabriel Jesus is not coming.
"We got in touch with Arsenal, and they said 'Leila, there are no conditions whatsoever. We are not going to negotiate for the player'. The subject is therefore closed."
Jesus has scored just one goal this season, which he netted in the against , marking the end to a nine-month dry spell for the ex- star.
