Gary Barlow has publicly expressed his gratitude for a big sacrifice his wife made, which allowed him to continue touring the world as part of Take That.
Professional dancer Dawn Andrews met Gary over 30 years ago when she was cast in a music video for his band. Their paths crossed again in 1995 when she joined the Take That tour as a dancer.
Shortly after they reconnected, the two began a relationship that eventually led to marriage and kids. However, as Gary's career took him around the world, Dawn made the choice to set her own dreams aside to support their family.
Reflecting on his wife's sacrifices, Gary openly acknowledges that Dawn took on the full responsibility of raising their children. "She brought our kids up, I didn't," he admitted in a recent podcast interview.
"I do this job, which is bloody all encompassing. I travel all around the world, and she gave up her job to bring our kids up. Left her dreams to one side, and I got to do mine still."
The couple have been through both joyful and difficult times together. They are proud parents to their three children - Daniel, Emily, and Daisy.
Sadly, in 2012 they faced a heartbreaking loss when their fourth child, Poppy, was stillborn. Gary has since admitted that the loss of Poppy is something he still finds difficult to come to terms with.
Despite their public profiles, Gary and Dawn have always been dedicated to giving their children a grounded upbringing away from the spotlight. Emily and Daniel are now in their 20s and have both pursued studies in fields involving medicine and physiology.
Meanwhile Daisy, who is the youngest at 15 years old, is still finding her path. Dawn, now 54, has maintained a remarkably low profile throughout their marriage despite her husband's fame.
Describing her as "the real deal," Gary has praised her for being a "no-nonsense mum" and keeping him in line over the years. "She's a wonderful woman... everyone who meets our kids always says how great they are," he added.
It comes after Gary's towering son Daniel became an internet sensation after he wowed fans with his impressive height. The 24-year-old was snapped standing beside his Take That star dad in a family photo which has taken the internet by storm.
Despite Gary's preference for privacy when it comes to family matters, the rare image showed Daniel's considerable height as he casually draped his arm over his dad's shoulder, with wife and mum Dawn by their side.
Standing at 6ft 2in, Daniel may not be quite as lofty as some believe, especaially when compared to Gary's 5ft 7in stature. The musician is yet to speak out about the internet phenomenon.
