Harriet Dart has challenged Great Britain to stay in the Billie Jean King Cup long enough to see play in his final tournament.
The two World Cups of tennis - the Billie Jean King Cup Finals and the Davis Cup Final 8 - are being staged at the same venue in Malaga for the first time.
And there is added glamour with the Spanish superstar making his professional farewell in his homeland and there is a huge banner reading: "Gracias Rafa" on the side of the stadium.
Great Britain play their first-round tie on Friday against Germany with the aim of making Wednesday's Billie Jean King Cup final.
Spain play their Davis Cup quarter-final against the Netherlands on Tuesday - potentially Nadal's last match though he will be desperate to reach next Sunday's (Nov 24) final.
British No.3 Dart said: "It's going to be iconic with Rafa retiring here. I mean, you see all the banners and the posters everything where.
"Growing up, you idolise someone like him. He's been so special for the game, and everything he stands by and the way he is on the court as a competitor, I mean, it's super inspiring.
"We were just talking actually about how many times he's won Roland Garros. Every year you can hear it from players' area, they won't just say 14-time champion.
"They'll name every single year, and you think: 'Gosh, even with just one, you're amazing, let alone what he's been able to achieve'.
"But yeah, I think it's pretty fitting that he's also going to be retiring at home in Spain in front of a home crowd. I think that's incredibly special. But yeah, for us, as well, it's going to be cool to be around, and hopefully we'll be here for as long as possible."
Dart looks to be competing for a place in the doubles after No.1 Katie Boulter and No.2 Emma Raducanu led Great Britain to victory in France in April.
Captain Anne Keothavong refused to confirm her line-up but said: "In this competition, I think we have seen over the years, that anything is possible. I'm pleased that we've got the best team that I could have fielded for this competition.
"I've got five women here who are more than capable of playing above and beyond. I think Katie and Emma in particular showed that in April.
"To beat France in their backyard on clay in that kind of atmosphere, the way they were able to rise to the challenge, it was, I mean, it was incredible. It really was. Outstanding performances.
"We have seen that in previous ties, as well, from other players in this team. So look, no one here is to be underestimated. I don't want to give anything away yet."
