'I visited Tom Kerridge's Michelin-starred pub and was stunned by £8 menu item'

When thinking about Michelin-starred dining, the average person might reasonably think of pricey establishments like Gordon Ramsay's Chelsea eatery, Sushi Kanesaka, or the exclusive L'Enclume in Cumbria. Yet, YouTube adventurer has unearthed the UK's most affordable Michelin-starred gem - and it's full of delightful surprises.

The Coach, curated by Head Chef Sarah Hayward, delights patrons with its 'small plate' menu that reinvents British classics with modern flair-a hallmark of Gloucester-born celebrity chef Tom Kerridge.

Astonishingly, the set menu is priced at a mere £15, distancing itself from fancier counterparts with lengthy reservation waitlists as this Buckinghamshire pub embraces a somewhat spontaneous approach to bookings.

Harrison explains: "You have to book a table the day, from 9:00am."

He further notes the establishment's value for money by saying: "If you're wondering how this Michelin star meal can be so cheap they offer a set menu which is what you are given you can't change anything that's it."

One of Tom Kerridges's other restaurants, nestled within the opulent walls of Harrods in Knightsbridge, has previously come under fire for its exorbitantly priced fish and chips. A single portion of Cornish fish with a mere eight chips costs an eye-watering £37.

However, the chips at The Coach left Harrison utterly astounded. Holding up a chip roughly the size of a highlighter pen, he exclaimed: "That is a chip."

Despite receiving only seven chips, he declared them the best he'd ever tasted, urging: "Unbelievable. You should come just for the chips."

It's worth noting that Harrison's chips came with an additional £8 charge on top of the already reasonable £15 set menu price, but as any foodie knows, you can't put a price on quality chips. The mushroom risotto, while tasting "unbelievable," according to Harrison, oddly seemed to lack any rice.

There were no complaints about the chicken Kiev, which, bursting with fresh hand-chopped herbs, was leagues beyond anything you'd find in a typical pub. Given that The Coach retains its pub identity, Harrison also sampled the local Rebellion brewery beer, although this didn't hit the mark for him.

He candidly shared: "I don't like beer... I just don't get how you taste that and go 'Oh yeah, that's lovely, give me a pint of that.'" He jokingly added: "Sorry guys, I'm just not a lad."

However, he did extend an invitation to anyone who wants to join him for a ginger beer, especially if chips are on the table.
