I'm A Celebrity fans spot huge change in the jungle - and 'sad' reason why

However, this year the tradition has been abandoned, with viewers being directed to an app instead. A spokesperson for reportedly revealed that there'd been a huge decline in telephone voting recently, prompting the show to channel it all into one place.

Yet it hasn't gone unnoticed by fans, who have taken to in astonishment to comment that the signature shirts now only carry contestants' names. "WHERE are the phone numbers on the back of their shirts? I know the app exists, but you never mess with a 22-year tradition!" one exclaimed.

A second chimed in: "2024 is the year they've finally got rid of phone voting... who's gonna shout 'Call the SHORT NUMBER now'?" A third agreed that the new method "feels weird".

According to LADBible, a show source explained: "Over the years, the number of people voting by phone has declined, and it's become a very small proportion of votes cast. To simplify the message to our viewers, we have chosen to only have free online voting this year."

However, the good news is that voting by app will be free of charge.

On the other hand, no matter who is crowned King or Queen of the Jungle this year, there will be no prize money for the person who has stuck it out the longest.

Each celebrity has already agreed an appearance fee, which will be the total amount they'll receive from the show.

For , that fee is an estimated £1.5million, dwarfing those of many other contestants, some of whom have reportedly received as little as £30,000 over the years.
