To help drivers sell their car for the best possible price, Grant, who runs the YouTube channel , in which he recommended that all sellers to take high quality photographs.

He advised: "You don't need a brilliant photographer or unbelievably expensive camera gear. Most of us have got a phone that's perfectly capable of taking some pretty good photographs.

"Now, unlike me, make sure your car is nice and clean, and also that the background is similar to what we have here - nice, simple, clean-looking. It makes a big difference. Don't picture it in some manky-looking estate. Get the car looking good, get it in a nice area and snap some photos."

Often the first impression a potential buyer has of the vehicle, drivers should spend a good amount of time and effort to make sure that their photographs properly represent their car.

Motorists should begin by making sure the car is properly cleaned, inside and out. Whilst this can be done by drivers themselves, it could be worth investing in a valet service.

Then, drivers should pick a good location for photographs, such as a local park or countryside attraction, spending some time taking shots from all angles.

Later in the video, Grant also urged sellers to be upfront about any damage that may be on the vehicle, such as dents and scratches, highlighting that it is best to be honest.

He continued: "One added tip for photos, if you've got a scuff or a scratch or a bit of damage on the car, take a photo of it.

"A lot of sellers think this is going to put people off the sale, but in all honesty, nine out of ten buyers will appreciate the honesty in being able to see the damage upfront."

Similarly, the YouTuber suggested that drivers should spend some time writing a quality description that is honest but prioritises the good points of the vehicle.

He added: "Everyone will have their own way of doing this, but this is the way that works for me. Right away, state why it's being sold - it doesn't need to be any more complex than that.

"Then, immediately into the highlight reel [bullet points]. What we're covering here is the mileage, what kind of history the car has, and plus points about the car. For my [Audi] R8, it was a rare colour, it had a special exhaust on it, it had a clean MOT recently, so these are the points you're going to want to list right away in the ad."
