fans believe they've cracked the dark mystery surrounding Ruby Fox-Miligan and her estranged father's past.
Ruby, as portrayed by Beth Cordingly, together with Caleb (William Ash) were speechless when their daughter Steph (Georgia Jay) unexpectedly returned, over a decade after their last encounter. Stephanie's name surfaced months back following the demise of Ruby's mother, Helen (Sharon Maughan).
In the episode aired on Friday (November 15), Steph arrived in the Dales, only to be revealed that her motive was to claim her inheritance from her late grandmother, Helen.
A confrontation ensued between Steph and her mother regarding Steph's troubled childhood, culminating in an unexpected slap from Ruby, quashing the hopes for a tender reunion.
However, during Tuesday's episode (November 19), there appeared to be a thaw between Ruby and Steph. But the waters were muddied again with another family member's arrival - Ruby's father Anthony (Nicholas Day), reports .
Tensions were palpable, showcasing the fraught relationship with Ruby resolute in distancing herself from him. Fans are now convinced that Ruby harbours a ghastly secret about her father, one that could be truly shocking.
On X, one viewer speculated: "Ruby despises her dad, but why. Is there something far more sinister. He is rather sinister. He's creepy."
Speculation about Steph's past is rife among fans, with one suggesting: "Are they going to do a Ruby's daughter is also her sister type storyline and that's why she hates her dad so much?"
Another fan shared their concern, writing: "I have a sinking feeling that Ruby's dad was troubling her. I do hope I'm wrong."
A fourth fan chimed in with a similar theory, stating: "No way is that the reaction of someone who was told to leave cos they got pregnant. That's the reaction of someone who's been abused. Is her dad Steph's dad not grandad. This and other?"
Georgia, the actress playing Steph, previously hinted at an unhappy family reunion for her character, saying: "She comes back into the village, I think it has been a decade or so, and there's some conflict between mum Ruby and Caleb."
