Tuesday's instalment of the ITV quiz show saw The Beast take on, Chris, Sonia, Clementine and Mark. Up first was history teacher Chris, who answered six questions correctly in the cash builder.

Despite being tempted by the high offer of £40,000, the 43-year-old decided to stick with his original sum of £6,000. However, things took a turn when Mark closed the gap between the two of them, eventually knocking Chris out.

Second to take on the chaser was 64-year-old Sonia. The office manager only managed to answer two questions correctly in the cash builder, meaning The Beast's low offer of £1,000 was a no-brainer.

Sonia became the first person in the final chase, leaving co-star Clementine hoping to do the same. The 20-year-old proved she had impressive knowledge, earning £5,000 in the first round.

Declining both Mark's higher and lower offer, she stuck with the £5,000. The undergraduate student turned out to be a brilliant asset to the team as the Beast started to worry when she made it through to the final chase.

The final contestant to take on The Beast was 58-year-old Mark. Knowing it was vital that he made it back to help his teammates, Mark refused to take the high offer, sticking with the £4,000 he earned in his cash builder.

Mark managed to make it through to the final chase, with The Beast now having a game on his hands.

In the final chase, the trio answered 17 questions correctly, with presenter Bradley Walsh suggesting they could have been a few answers short.

However, despite Mark getting off to a great start, he began to stumble. After the team executed a number of pushbacks, Mark found himself needing to answer three more questions with just eight seconds left on the clock.

With just two seconds left, Mark admitted defeat as he watched the team walk away with £10,000.

"Oh my word. I am done here, so well played guys," Mark quipped as the final claxon went off.
