Bradley Walsh sparked concern on as a player shared that the legendary quiz host was "slowing down". The presenter, 64, has been telling contestants they're a "better player than that" since he joined the back in 2009.
His well-known catchphrases are part of the reason that fans love him, but one quizzer thought that Brad may be losing his sparkle a little. Noting how much speedier the host used to perform when firing out cashbuilder round questions "in earlier days", a recent player noted that he has recently been a little slower.
Tom Williamson, a computer programmer who lives in Liverpool, appeared on October 22 episode. Joining him was Jessica from Lincoln, Felix from Ilfracombe and Linda from Lowestoft.
In Tom's cashbuilder round, he wowed fans at home as he managed to answer every single question thrown at him by Bradley Walsh correctly.
Now, speaking exclusively to , the contestant has shared what that experience was like for him.
While Tom managed an impressive ten questions correct in the cashbuilder round, not getting a single one wrong, he shared that he thought Bradley was "slowing down".
He said: "Another big contention for The Chase fans is if Brad is slower than the early days. I think he is. Because I got all of my questions right, but the only thing I didn't do was interrupt.
"I got ten out of ten and he just started asking another question. The most I've ever seen anyone get is 14, but that was in like series two.
"If Brad's asking 14 questions in the early days but only asking ten now, then either he's slowing down or the questions are a bit longer or he has been told to do it a bit slower so people can catch up."
Bradley previously opened up on some health issues, as he previously disclosed that he suffers from blepharitis - an illness which leaves him with red and swollen eyes.
Speaking about it in an episode of This Morning, Brad said: "People don't realise I have seriously bad blepharitis." He added emphatically: "I have to take one pill a day for it or I really struggle. I am going to need my eyes operated on at some point to sort it out."
Bradley went on to say: "So many times, people have commented on how I look. But they don't realise. If I take medication though, I'm fine."
The Chase airs weekdays from 5pm on ITV and ITVX
