Katie Piper, the inspirational star, has touched hearts with an emotional video on social media where she opened up about drifting apart from a close friend. Although she doesn't reveal the identity of the person in question, her words have resonated deeply with her fans.

In the poignant clip, released on Tuesday 19 November, Katie begins with the words: "I can't believe we're not friends anymore," before delving into their shared history. "We were inseparable, untouchable, sisters by choice.

"You were my first call when things were going well, when I hit my goals, or when life let me down in ways I could have never imagined. I can't believe we're not friends anymore. Sometimes I'll go to send you a message and then I'll realise things aren't like before."

She continues, reflecting on the evolution of their friendship: "We grew up and we grew apart. I'll forever cherish those memories of those years, the years that we belonged to each other... and now it's over."

Katie concludes with a bittersweet note: "It will live in my heart as a painful but beautiful memory of the past. We're not friends anymore, and that's okay, but I hope that you're okay."

Katie shared an emotional message with the video, opening up about the bitter reality of friendship breakdowns. She wrote: "I think we've all been here when it comes to friendships.

"From strangers, to best friends and strangers once more. And the loss of a friendship is often greater than a romantic relationship.

"It's the loss of the person you told everything to, without fear of judgement and that loss can feel irreplaceable. And it's not always a disagreement, or a final straw, it can just be that you both changed, your lives changed and you went in different directions," reports .

Numerous fans resonated with Katies sentiment, flocking to share their personal experiences. One follower commented: "Thank you for sharing. This has happened to me and I don't think I will ever fully understand it."

Another reminisced about their own lost connection, adding: "Not everyone is for all seasons and the whole walk of your life. This was my best friend and I. 30 years and now we are strangers. But I think of her often and wish her well."

Katie, blessed with two daughters Belle, 10, and Penelope, six, and wife to craftsman Richard James Sutton, opened her heart earlier this year in an exclusive chinwag with OK! about the significance she places on her family and friends, as well as her career ambitions.

She said: "I just want to spend time with my loved ones, and not prioritise work over health, family and being together. If I can continue to bring things that I enjoy and care about to TV and publishing platforms and call it my job, then I'm really lucky.

"I don't ever want to lose sight of that and become ungrateful, or arrogant. This was a dream for me as a younger woman and I don't want to ever forget that."
