Luke Humphries weighs in on Gary Anderson's angry rant over Luke Littler

star has weighed in on recent claims from Gary Anderson that he does not receive enough recognition for his quality.

Instead, the 53-year-old implied that the immense rise of has taken the gloss off of Humphries' achievements in the eyes of some, despite the world No.1 enjoying a sensational 12 months.

The Scot said: "This is the thing, he has won just about everything since this last year, He's not just world champion, he's there for a reason. World champion was added onto his CV, he's won so much more. And the boy gets looked over every time, which I think is a load of b******s.

"Just a little respect, it's always other people. But Luke goes on you go. As long as they're talking about other people, the limelight's off of him so he can just carry on what he does. He's handling it well but deep down he must be cheesed off."

Humphries has now spoken out about his rivals' comments, conceding that he does appreciate why the media want to shine a light on Littler's successes. He told SportsBoom: "I do feel like I've got a lot of credit. I don't feel like the media hasn't given me credit. I don't feel that way.

"I just think when you've got a superstar [Luke Littler], it's hard not to go with that. Luke has grown the sport at absolutely incredible levels, he's making the sport bigger for all of us, let's be honest.

"If I was 17, 18 and all the attention was on him and not me, then I'd be gutted. I'm an older guy now. I'm 29. I just want to win titles. That's all I care about.

"I can see the media attention is on him. Maybe I deserve a bit more, maybe I deserve a bit more alongside with him. But the media attention he gets, he deserves."

There have been plenty of comparisons between Littler and Humphries over the past 12 months, and the latter will be hoping to further enhance his claims of being the best in the business by winning the World Grand Prix.

The 29-year-old progressed into the quarter-finals of the competition with a win over Ricardo Pietreczko in Leicester. Rob Cross beat Littler in his opening match of the competition, with and Michael Smith also first-round exits.
