The reigning triple F1 world champion was losing himself in the moment at the wedding of Portuguese racing driver Antonio Felix da Costa, which he attended with his partner Kelly Piquet.
F1 stars have had the freedom to take their minds off racing matters since the almost four weeks ago, with an extended break preceding a mad dash to the checkered flag in 2024.
Verstappen's mind certainly wasn't on racing when he was filmed in a white shirt, with his right hand raised, throwing it down to a remixed version of Swift's 2008 song 'Love Story' after Da Costa tied the knot.
Piquet, daughter of three-time F1 world champion Nelson Piquet, was also filmed getting amongst the action in Portugal. And the Brazilian model later shared on social media of her and Verstappen all dolled up for the occasion.
Red Bull star Verstappen does not have long before he will be forced to turn his full attention back to F1 action, as he prepares to try and cling onto his Drivers' Championship lead over the final six races of the season.
The United States Grand Prix in Austin this weekend will kickstart a three-week triple-header including races in Mexico and Piquet's home country of Brazil. Verstappen has a 52-point lead to protect and Lando Norris is closing in while driving a McLaren which, before the break, was significantly faster than his Red Bull.
Verstappen should at least return to the grid refreshed, having taken his opportunity to switch off from the stresses and strains of top-level competition. The Dutchman recently that he does not concern himself with F1 developments or rumours when he is not on duty.
"I've been in F1 for 10 years now and I'm not wasting time on all those stories," said the 27-year-old. "I mean, I barely read anything about F1 anyway.
"Of course, sometimes I see something or someone else tells me, 'Did you see what this and that person said?' But I always say people can think what they want - I'm not going to waste my energy on that. So I don't really care about what other people say."
