The Met Office has issued fresh weather alerts for snow.
The yellow are in place for 29 hours this weekend, between 4am on Saturday until 9am on Sunday, with the forecaster predicting up to 40cm of snow in parts of the country.
It comes after parts of England and Scotland saw snow this week, with chaos on the roads and railways on Tuesday.
Met Office warnings before another cold snap hits this weekend.
The first warning for rain and snow spans 4am on Saturday until Sunday at 9am, spanning Central, Tayside & Fife, East Midlands, Grampian, Highlands & Eilean Siar, North East England, North West England, SW Scotland, Lothian Borders, Strathclyde, West Midlands and Yorkshire & Humber.
The second rain warning covers South West England and will be in place from 6am on Saturday until 6am on Sunday.
The Met Office warns that there could be 'power cuts' in parts of the country, as well as a small chance of floods and subsequent disruption to transport networks.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Outbreaks of rain will spread northeastwards on Saturday, preceded by a spell of snow across parts of northern England and Scotland.
"Whilst snow will become increasingly confined to higher elevations with time, there is the chance of a transient period of snow to low levels in some areas, with perhaps as much as 5-10 cm accumulating in places, especially the Vale of York, before turning back to rain. Temporary snow accumulations of 10-20 cm are possible on ground above 150m, with perhaps as much as 20-40 cm above 300m."
